It's easy to forget when you're expecting, but all of the pregnancy stuff - the appointments, the ultrasound, the awkward congratulatory remarks from your not-ready-for-kids colleagues - all the pregnancy stuff is just prelude to actually having a child.
For human beings, that's important. Babies of other creatures come into the world ready to fend for themselves in at least a very basic fashion. Human babies are kind of, well, dumb. For one thing, they can't walk. Mom, and - more recently - Dad have to carry baby around everywhere. In the old days, this would involve putting baby in a Baby Bjorn. But thanks to a phenomenon I call regressive technology, all the moms around town are using "wraps" (which sounds more like a snack than a baby carrying technology).
Recently, Andréa attempted to get some early practice in with one of these wraps. (Fittingly, the baby was modeled by laundry and a sack of coins. Two things baby needs a lot of: clothes and money.)
Here's Andréa setting up the classic "Windsor knot."
