Trip to Oregon

We got back last week from a trip to Oregon. We flew out there to attend my younger sister's college graduation in Eugene. She was pleasantly surprised to find that she graduated cum laude (which she didn't realize until the graduation ceremony began). I can safely say that her house is not babyproof, but Nuri had a great time playing with her pots and pans and packages of pasta, etc.

My older sister Erica and her 4-year-old son Logan drove down from Seattle to hang out too, and of course my parents came as well. It was Nuri's first time meeting his cousin Logan and aunt Erica. Logan jumped out of the car and yelled, "I want to see baby Nuri!" and the entire trip, he told everyone, "this is my cousin, baby Nuri." Erica said that Nuri looked like a koala bear and I've been thinking of him that way ever since. My parents babysat one morning to give us a break from kids and the sisters had a great lunch out together.

Additionally, it was Nuri's first time meeting his great-grandma Bea, my dad's mom. She had a wonderful time with him and was thrilled to be "holding a baby again" (she used to be a neonatal nurse way back in the day). Like a true grandma, she kept insisting that he was cold, despite the 80 degree weather and his flannel swaddling blanket.

Nuri also had a great time at my parents' house, playing with grandma and grandpa and pulling the cats' fur. He spent some time playing outdoors, interacting with nature (i.e., bugs and weeds). My friends Jackie and Madeline came to visit, and met Nuri, which was a lot of fun.

We finally remembered to take an appropriate number of photos, a subset of which appear below for your enjoyment (thank you to my mom for at least half of the photography). I've also added a video of Nuri "playing with" one of the cats.
