Dear family and friends,
The Baxamusa/Schmidt clan fulfilled a longstanding dream when we moved back to California last month! We are very happy and thankful to be celebrating Christmas with our families on the west coast. Our new home is Livermore, CA which is a beatiful mess of cutting-edge technology, small-town quaintness, and wine country charm. Sal started a new job as a research scientist for the Department of Energy and Andrea is busily finishing up her thesis. Nuri and Zaki are settled into their new schools and are busy exploring their new home.
2010 was our first full year as a four-person family, and we have pictures to prove it!
The four of us went out for dinner on Mother's Day. We may not be invited back though - sorry about the mess, Cheesecake Factory.
The boys have had a great year. Nuri turned three and celebrated with a train cake, courtesy of Andrea.
Zaki made it through his first year and stuffed his face with cinnamon rolls, also courtesy of Andrea.
Sal's bald spot is growing and Nuri has been taking measures to protect his eyes from the glare.
Zaki took a part-time job as a lumberjack to help support the family. Timber!
As Zaki has gotten older and more interactive, the boys have started playing with each other.
For Halloween, Nuri was a giraffe (again) and Zaki was Yoda. When 800 years old you are, take naps in a stroller you will!
We said goodbye to our old apartment in Cambridge right before Thanksgiving. We'll miss all of the great friends we made in the Boston area, but we're happy to be back in California.
We have been so lucky to go through another year surrounded by such wonderful people who enrich our lives with wisdom, happiness and humor (especially humor). If we got a chance to spend time together in 2010, we're grateful. And if we did not, then we hope 2011 brings us together.
We wish all of our family and friends a Merry Christmas and best wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy New Year.

Happy New Year to you too!!! I love the picture in the Eastgate apartment. Beautiful! BTW, we will be in SF next week. If we get a chance, let's meet (still in 2010). Big Hugs!

Truly we are Blessed to have you back on the west coast. I hope that we get to meet they will fit in perfect with the "rest of the" next generation of small ones!
